I am Ermis Efthimiou, Head of Partnerships at Pandectes.
My everyday work is talking with other apps and agencies to organize strategic actions that benefit our users aiding them in finding relevant apps and making tools to achieve compliance more easily accessible.
2. At Pandectes you help brands ensure they are GDPR compliant. Can you give us a success story for a D2C brand you’ve worked with? E.g. what was the problem? What did you do? What were the results?
One success story that comes to mind involves a D2C brand that came to us after their original cookie consent solution failed to function properly. They had specific requirements for Google Consent Mode v2, but their previous provider couldn’t ensure compliance. After seeing comments from our founder, Nikos on a Google forum, they decided to give Pandectes a try.
The installation process was smooth, thanks to our comprehensive support articles that guide users through each step. However, to ensure everything was running seamlessly behind the scenes the brand reached out to our live chat for further verification. Nikos personally responded, checked their setup and confirmed they were fully compliant with Google Consent Mode v2 which was a critical need for their business.
The results? Not only did they achieve the compliance they required but they also benefited from our app’s features like auto-generated cookie policies and detailed reporting, available with our Plus plan. This not only saved them time but ensured they could focus on growing their business with the peace of mind that their data practices were fully compliant.
3. You specialise in data regulations – what piece of advice would you give to DTC brands who want to improve in this area?
DTC brands should focus on building trust with their customers by adopting privacy-compliant data collection practices, such as using tools that respect regulations like GDPR, CCPA and other global privacy laws. Implementing solutions like Google Consent Mode and compliant cookie banners ensures that user data is collected transparently with consent.
By focusing on first-party data and ensuring compliance, brands can still provide personalized experiences while staying within legal boundaries. This improves trust and long-term customer loyalty which ultimately leads to better store performance.
Additionally, a seamless consent management process can help optimize data flow without affecting tracking for key business metrics like conversions and customer insights.
4. What do you think the biggest challenges facing eCommerce/D2C businesses will be over the next 12-18 months?

C. Supply Chain & Shipping Issues: Ongoing global disruptions could affect inventory and logistics forcing brands to be more agile with their supply chains.
D. Sustainability & Consumer Expectations: Ethical consumerism is on the rise. Brands that adopt sustainable practices can differentiate themselves while meeting growing consumer demands for eco-friendly products.
